Located in the heart of the Himalayas, Bhutan is a small country of just over 720,000 people with a rich history, distinct culture, and impressive topography. Known for its tranquillity and ability to rejuvenate those who visit, Bhutan has a lot of untouched natural beauty for tourists to experience and connect to, the latest guide explains.

“In a world consumed by hectic schedules and superficial experiences, Bhutan stands as a sanctuary of tranquillity and authenticity,” explained a spokesperson for Ever Wonder Adventure. “With our new guide, we’re striving to make people aware of the many transcendent opportunities that the country offers, particularly through its Trans Bhutan Trail adventures.”

Built in the 16th century, the Trans Bhutan Trail was originally used by rulers, monks, pilgrims, traders, and message carriers. After falling into disrepair in the 1960s, the trail underwent an extensive restoration program from 2018 to 2022 that saw it significantly improved and upgraded. In its current form, it goes through 27 gewogs (villages), 4 dzongs (fortressed monasteries), 21 temples, and 12 mountain passes.

Along the trail, tourists navigate lush rice terraces, vibrant orchards, misty pine forests, and several suspension bridges. They also get to interact with locals, take part in homestays and ancestral traditions, and visit iconic monuments like the Punakha Dzong, and in doing so, they are helping preserve Bhutan's culture and heritage.

“Bhutan, with its untouched beauty and commitment to sustainable tourism, offers a journey of a lifetime through the Trans Bhutan Trail,” said the spokesperson. “As you reconnect with nature and immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of Bhutanese culture, you become an integral part of a profound transformation. Embark on this extraordinary adventure and let the magic of Bhutan leave an indelible mark on your soul.”
