April is International Guitar Month and after 25 plus years in the music teaching biz… Music Dials has expanded on its hand-held visual devices and digital downloads, with their ability to provide reference to chords and notes for most all songs. Showing immediate fingering positions on guitar, bass, mandolin, and banjo fret-boards, along with hand locations for keyboard players.

Ron Greene, inventor, developer and founder of the Music Dials mentions, “A song is essentially just three musical chords. Making a chord is simply combining 3 single music notes… That’s it!”

Ron continues, “But, it’s also very true that out of these three chords, tons of songs from all varieties have been enhanced with an incredible amount of tonal goodness and vibe crunching coolness.”

Recent findings suggest that the vast explosion of guitar and keyboard learning among the Millennial youth, are also being enjoyed by the middle aged GenX crowd, along with a growing number of baby boomers in their 60s and 70s.

Greene mentions, “It’s become much easier to learn how to play these days. The cost of extremely nice musical instruments offer a great value for the beginner to intermediate musician.”

The Music Dials have been re-designed to enhance the learning experience. These hand-held devices have a dial that turns to align with the proper chord and note patterns on an instrument. It’s newest line of Dials also includes a digital download format of their original Rhythm Guitar Dial.

“For example” Ron goes on to say, “the Guitar Accompaniment Chords dial is now a more simplified two-sided tool, showing major keys on one side and minor keys on the other. By turning the dial to the musical key noted at the top, it shows all the essential chords commonly used to create popular tunes.”

According to Ani Patel, an associate professor of psychology at Tufts University and the author of “Music, Language, and the Brain” – learning an instrument affects the developing brain. She notes that there is a growing body of work, which suggests that actually learning to play a musical instrument does have impacts on certain abilities. They include speech perception, the ability to understand emotions in the voice and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

It’s a given that other abilities are enhanced by learning to play a musical instrument. Some include… exercise for the fingers, hand/eye coordination, sound pitch recognition, and music theory awareness.

The newly designed Music Dials now support music genres that include; blues, rock, bluegrass, jazz, country, folk, rap, new age, classical and pop.

As a 25th anniversary gift in support of International Guitar Month, Music Dials is now providing a complimentary Note and Chord Reference Guide for Musicians, here… http://www.MusicDials.com
