NetworkNewsBreaks – Marijuana Company of America Inc. (MCOA) Files Application to Uplist to OTCQB Venture Market

Innovative hemp and cannabis corporation Marijuana Company of America Inc. (OTC: MCOA) this morning announced that it has filed an application with the OTC Markets Group to uplist to the OTCQB Venture Market. Additionally, the company intends to file a Form S-1 with the Securities and Exchange Commission in conjunction with an anticipated equity line of financing that will allow MCOA, once the S-1 is effective, to raise up to $10 million. Per the update, the company’s application to uplist to the OTCQB Venture Market is a condition for both the equity line of financing and the Form S-1 registration statement. “Our goal is to obtain the necessary capital through our S-1 to capitalize on the host of opportunities available in the cannabis and hemp industry right now,” Donald Steinberg, president and CEO of MCOA, stated in the news release. “Also, moving to a higher OTC Markets reporting tier will help to provide better access to institutional investors, broaden our shareholder base, and provide greater credibility with the Company’s partners, clients, stakeholders, and customers, as well as with the wider investment community.”

Trump says climate change not a hoax, not sure of its source

Oct 15, 2018

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump is backing off his claim that climate change is a hoax but says he doesn't know if it's manmade and suggests that the climate will "change back again." In an interview with CBS' "60 Minutes" that aired Sunday night, Trump said he doesn't want to put the U.S. at a disadvantage in responding to climate change. "I think something's happening. Something's changing and it'll change back again," he said. "I don't think it's a hoax. I think there's probably a difference. But I don't know that it's manmade. I will say this: I don't want...

Guatemala volcano spews ash months after deadly eruption

Oct 15, 2018

MEXICO CITY — Guatemala's Volcano of Fire spewed ash and lava Saturday just months after an eruption killed at least 110 people. The country's seismology and volcanology institute said hot lava was spilling from the crater and flowing toward a ravine. Constant rumblings from the volcano sounded like an engine, and columns of gray ash billowed 4,600 meters (15,091 feet) into the air. Authorities urged nearby residents to evacuate and be alert for possible lahars - flows of mud, debris, water and pyroclastic material - that could be fed by afternoon rains. The Volcano of Fire is one of the...

As sea ice melts, some say walruses need better protection

Oct 15, 2018

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Given a choice between giving birth on land or sea ice, Pacific walrus mothers most often choose ice. Likewise, they prefer sea ice for molting, mating, nursing and resting between dives for food. Trouble is, as the century progresses, there's going to be far less ice around. How well walruses cope with less sea ice is at the heart of a legal fight over whether walruses should be listed as a threatened species, giving them an added protection against human encroachments. The federal government in 2008 listed polar bears as a threatened species because of diminished sea...

Life-sized plastic whale to raise ocean pollution awareness

Oct 15, 2018

SAN FRANCISCO — Artists are putting the finishing touches on an 82-foot-long (24-meter-long) blue whale made from discarded plastic that will be on display near San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge to raise awareness about ocean pollution. The Monterey Bay Aquarium said Friday a blue whale can weigh 300,000 pounds (136,000 kilograms) — about the amount of plastic scientists say enters the ocean every nine minutes. A 2015 study by Jenna Jambeck, an environmental engineer at the University of Georgia, found 9 million tons (8 million metric tons) of plastic waste enter the ocean annually. The sculpture created from plastic water...

NASA official: Tense moments but calm crew in aborted launch

Oct 15, 2018

MOSCOW — NASA's chief heard one reassuring sound over the radio link after the aborted launch of a Soyuz capsule with an American and a Russian aboard. It was U.S. astronaut Nick Hague calmly relaying information in Russian to flight controllers. "My reaction was, 'things aren't going well and he's not speaking English,'" NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine told reporters Friday, after Hague and Roscosmos' Alexei Ovchinin returned to the Star City training center outside Moscow from their abruptly shortened mission. "So, in other words, he was calm, he was cool, he was collected, he was doing what he was trained...
