HempNewsBreaks – Hemptown USA Aims to Capitalize on Mounting CBG Market

Hemptown USA, a privately owned grower of full-spectrum, feminized hemp using premium-seed genetics, plans to capitalize on the rising cannabigerol (“CBG”) market. A recent article discussing the company reads, “Feminized hemp plants must normally be harvested early in the growth process to capture the CBG before it changes its form to CBD and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), but Hemptown USA plants have been designed to allow harvesting later at full maturity. They have also been designed to be far richer in CBG (10–14%). In 2020 and beyond, the company has exclusive rights to 20% of the latest and greatest novel cannabinoids being produced by its genetics partner. . . . Hemptown just completed in the fall of 2019 a 2.1-million-pound harvest of both CBG- and CDB-rich, dried, hemp biomass and will be scaling its downstream operations to meet global demand in the wake of the successful 2019 growing season. According to Hemptown data, the company is on track for 2019 revenue of $19 million and is projecting $104 million revenue for 2020 once downstream extraction/production is in full swing. In 2018, the company harvested 110,000 pounds of full-spectrum biomass with CBD content of around 14% from its Oregon hemp farms.”

WASHINGTON — The United States has told the United Nations it has begun the process of pulling out of the landmark 2015 Paris climate agreement. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Monday that he submitted a formal notice to the United Nations. That starts a withdrawal process that does not become official for a year. His statement touted America's carbon pollution cuts and called the Paris deal an "unfair economic burden" to the U.S. economy. Nearly 200 nations signed the climate deal in which each country provides its own goals to curb emissions of heat-trapping gases that lead to climate...

Sample cookies baked just this week are also launching from Virginia on Northrop Grumman's Cygnus capsule, for the six station astronauts. The experiment explores the possibility of making freshly baked items for space travelers. With...

China says US has 'weaponized' visas to target exchanges

Dec 8, 2019

BEIJING — China on Wednesday accused the U.S. of having "weaponized" the issuance of visas following the reported inability of a top Chinese space program official to obtain permission to travel to a key conference in Washington. Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying told reporters that the head of the Chinese delegation to the International Astronautical Congress wasn't able to obtain a visa following an Oct. 12 interview, making it difficult for Chinese representatives to attend important events at the meeting. Reports said the vice chairman of the China National Space Administration, Wu Yanhua, had planned to attend the congress. Hua...

A study by Healthy Babies Bright Futures found the presence of heavy metals in 95% of the 168 baby foods that were tested. The study found 95% of the food tested contained lead, arsenic, mercury or cadmium. It found one in four baby foods that were tested contained all four metals....

Dec 8, 2019

MIDWAY ATOLL, Northwestern Hawaiian Islands — Deep-sea explorers scouring the world's oceans for sunken World War II ships are honing in on debris fields deep in the Pacific, in an area where one of the most decisive battles of the time took place. Hundreds of miles off Midway Atoll, nearly halfway between the United States and Japan, a research vessel is launching underwater robots miles into the abyss to look for warships from the famed Battle of Midway. Weeks of grid searches around the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands have already led the crew of the Petrel to one sunken battleship, the...
